Bronchophony: is the abnormal transmission of sounds from the lungs or bronchi.


Whispered pectoriloquy: an increased loudness of whispering noted during auscultation with a stethoscope on the lung fields on a patient's torso. Usually spoken sounds of a whispered volume by the patient would not be heard by the clinician auscultating a lung field with a stethoscope.

Diminished breath sound: A soft, decreased, or distant vesicular lung sound as heard through a stethoscope.
Ronchi: coarse rattling respiratory sounds, usually caused by secretions in bronchial airways.
Rhales/crackles: are the clicking, rattling, or crackling noises that may be made by one or both lungs of a human with a respiratory disease during inhalation.
